Health Standing Committee chairman T. K. Ashraf in a statement said that strict actions would be taken against those hoarding banned food products . The raids were conducted by Health Inspectors P.R. Prasad, A.P. Latheef, junior health inspectors C.G. Aneesh and P.V. Satheesh .

In the meanwhile, Chief Food Safety Officer, Ernakulam, K.V. Shibu, told that the officers in the department checked for display of Maggi noodles in many stores in Tripunithura and issued warnings to remove them and return all the Maggi items to the wholesale agencies.

Two crates of Maggi items were put under seal in More outlet while many small stores owners were asked to remove all Maggi items from their shelves. Since it was a popular food item, the government has given the company a week’s time to recall the products, said Mr. Shibu.
