In a Facebook post this evening, the Prime Minister said his visit to the UK is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation. He said India and U K are two vibrant democracies, which are proud of their diversity and multicultural societies. His visit to the UK is the first Prime Ministerial visit in almost a decade.

The Prime Minister will be meeting Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace, and will hold comprehensive talks with Prime Minister David Cameron, wherein he would discuss a variety of issues of mutual interest.

He will address British Parliament.

In London, the Prime Minister will also pay homage at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. The Prime Minister will visit the place where Babasaheb Ambedkar lived during his stay in London.

Recently, this place has been acquired by the Maharashtra government and it will be converted into a museum for people to visit and pay their respects.

To explore avenues of more effective economic cooperation, Mr. Modi will interact with CEOs at a round table in London. He said defence manufacturing will be a prime focus during the talks. There will be deliberations on clean energy, and Prime Minister Modi will seek to achieve progress in India's endeavour to make clean energy more affordable and accessible for the 1.25 billion Indians.

The UK is home to a 1.5 million-people strong Indian diaspora, who have immensely contributed to society in different walks of life.

Giving details of his Turkey trip commencing from November 14, the Prime Minister said the G-20 Summit is being held at a critical juncture, just after the adoption of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and just before discussions on climate change at COP-21 in Paris.

He said like last year, India's focus will remain on mitigating the menace of black money, tax erosion and bringing greater transparency.
