New Delhi : The prices of Amul milk will rise by Rs. 2 in the national capital starting tomorrow and in Gujarat starting day after.

"We have decided to increase the milk prices in Delhi-NCR region by RS. 2 per pouch effective from tomorrow morning and in Gujarat starting day after," Amul Managing Director R.S. Sodhi told ANI.

Following the proposed increase in milk prices, Amul Slim and Trim (double tonned milk) 500 ml pouch will be available for Rs. 18.

The new prices of Amul Taza (toned milk) will be Rs. 20 for 500 ml pouch and Rs. 39 for one litre, Amul Gold (full cream milk) will be available at Rs. 25 for 500 ml pouch and Rs. 49 for one litre.

Amul Diamond (full cream premium milk) will cost Rs. 26 for half a litre pouch.

Amul sells about 30 lakh litres of milk per day in the Delhi-NCR region.

The dairy industry in India has witnessed a long period of stable milk prices primarily on account of weak global prices of skimmed milk powder (SMP) and huge inventory of SMP back home due to lack of export opportunity.
