Gymnast Dipa Karmakar gets a grand reception at Agartala

Gymnast Dipa Karmakar gets a grand welcome after arriving in Agartala.

Dipa, who missed the medal in the Rio Olympics by a whisker, is being facilitated by the Tripura government on Monday. She and her coach Bisweshwar Nandi received a grand reception in Agartala, Tripura on Monday.

"Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and Youth and Sports Affairs minister Sahid Choudhuri would felicitate Dipa Karmakar and her coach Bishweshwar Nandi at Swami Vivekananda Maidan here," Director of Youth and Sports Affairs Dulal Das had said.

In the felicitation programme, another famed gymnast of the state and Arjun awardee, Mantu Debnath and other sports personalities of the state would be present.
