Taking to Twitter, the Puducherry Lieutenant-Governor said, "CBI today demolished an historical complex of corruption in medical seats in Puducherry which people had reconciled to. No more."

The CBI has booked 13 government officials, including two IAS officers, in connection to alleged irregularities in admission to postgraduate medical courses.
The 13 official booked by the CBI include, CENTAC chairman Narendra Kumar, Puducherry's Director of Health and Family Welfare Raman, Puducherry's Health Secretary B.A. Babu, CENTAC convenor Govindara, CENTAC joint convenor K. Pajaniradja, CENTAC co-ordinator M. Jonathan Daniel, Managing Director of Mahatma Gandhi Medial College and Research Institute Regagoplan, Managing Director of Aarupadahieedu Medical college and Hospital Ganesan, Vinayaka Missions Medical college registrar PonnlyinSelvan.
Managing Director of Sri Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical sciences Anbu, Managing Director of Sri ManakulaVinayagar Medical college and Hospital Dhanasekaran, Registrar of Pondicherry Institute of Medical Science Anil Jacob Purti and Managing Director of Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Centre Ramachandran.
As per the CBI FIR, the accused officers cheated bona fide students who were issued provisional admission certificate during counselling by the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) but were later denied the seats they were allocated.
It further stated that the public servants of Puducherry Government abused their official position in pursuance of the criminal conspiracy and failed to exercise proper admission procedures.
The FIR report also cited that the officials facilitated the private medical colleges to admit students for the postgradutation courses even though they were not sponsored by CENTAC.
"They conspired together during in furtherance of that they have cheated the bonafide students in the matter of admissions in PG courses in the UT of Puducherrry by giving admissions to ineligible candidates for collecting exorbitant admission fee etc," the FIR read.
