A woman and her brother were arrested on Thursday for allegedly beating her husband and father-in-law to death in New Delhi. The deceased, identified as Siya Ram and his son Vinod who were bludgeoned to death in their sleep with a boulder by the siblings.
The bodies were dumped separately in Roshan Nagar colony on Wednesday morning.
A case was registered and the investigation was handed over to the DLF Crime Branch unit. During the preliminary investigation, the police suspected Vinod’s wife Pooja behind the murders. She later confessed to the murders during interrogation.
According to the details, Pooja had eloped with Vinod nearly 10 years ago but later developed a fondness for her relative Ajay. Her husband, coming to know this would fight with her often and allegedly restricted her from getting outside the house or the village.
On Sunday, Vinod caught Pooja speaking to Ajay following which he beat her up with help from his father. Upset with this, Pooja along with her brother Khempal decided to kill the two men and battered both of them to death.
Locals on Wednesday morning noticed the bodies and alerted the police. The siblings were produced before a court and were remanded to four-day police custody.
