New Delhi: A two-member apex court Bench led by Justice A K Sikri has decided to go for the final hearing in the division of judges of the High Court of Judicature, Hyderabad to decide on the allocation of judges to the two Telugu states following bifurcation on August 28 (next Tuesday).

Telangana judges association sought adjournment of the case, but the Bench expressed its unhappiness over the plea here on Tuesday. The members of the judiciary had sought Supreme Court intervention on the guidelines issued by the High Court on the bifurcation of the latter.

It may be recalled that the bifurcation of the High Court is not happening any soon with the AP government being unable to provide the infrastructure as required by the AP Reorganisation Act.

An agitation is going on in the legal circles over the ‘injustice’ done to Telangana by the delay. Even the judicial members of Telangana state have been demanding, along with the lawyers, bifurcation of the High Court of Judicature.
