NEW DELHI: Unfortunately, for RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family the Jharkhand high court rejected the request of bail extension of Lalu regarding the fodder scam case and later the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a chargesheet against him for the IRCTC case.

Denying the RJD chief's 3 months bail extension request on medical grounds, the Jharkhand high court on Friday asked Lalu to surrender in jail by August 30. The case is related to alleged irregularities in granting operational contract of two Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) hotels to a private firm. Lalu, who is on bail after his conviction in the fodder scam cases, is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mumbai for a few serious ailments.

Yadav's lawyer Prabhat Kumar, reacting to the high court order, said that the RJD leader will now undergo treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi. "Now he will undergo treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi. He will be brought from Mumbai Asian Heart Institute where he is currently admitted," he said.
