mini2 Nizamabad: Major and Medium Irrigation Minister P Sudarshan Reddy said that steps would be taken to tackle water shortage problems during summer in the district. He also said that sewage lines would be laid in villages and houses would be sanctioned to SC beneficiaries. The Minister participated in several development programmes in villages of Navipet and Renjal mandals in the district on Sunday. He laid foundation stones for several works, all worth Rs 85.16 lakhs, to be taken up under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS). He performed Bhumipuja for CC roads to be laid at an estimated cost of Rs 13.32 lakhs at SC Colony of Neela village in Renjal mandal. When villagers complained to him that they were not getting water in bore-wells, he directed the Rural Water Supply (RWS) officials to take steps to deepen the bore-wells. Mr. Sudarshan Reddy also performed Bhumipuja for CC roads and sewage lines estimated at Rs 21.36 lakhs at Kalyanpur village in the mandal. The Minister said that houses would be sanctioned to SC beneficiaries and land for construction of houses would be acquired by purchasing even from private persons. Additional Joint Collector Sriram Reddy, Bodhan RDO Mohan Reddy, MRO Saidulu, MPDO Sayappa and other officials were present at the programmes.
