Water Brand Uma Bharati

Firebrand Sanyasin Uma Bharati has declared recently in the BJP conclave that she is no longer firebrand, since she has changed to Water Brand, after taking up the cause of River Ganga � the latest pet project of the RSS. With the RSS changing its focus now on to Ganga, the BJP has also been forced to start a Ganga Cell in the party, which is headed by Uma Bharati. The BJP has thrown its weight behind the Clean Ganga Project. Grapevine has it that it signals a change in tactics. Earlier, the Sangh used to whip up emotions on an issue and then BJP steps in � like on Babri Masjid. On Ganga, the BJP has been involved from the very first stage. Change of brand has not resulted in her change of temperament. Uma Bharati left no one in doubt about it. If the need arises, she declared with a straight face, she can set fire to water (paani mein aag laga denge)! In a way, Uma Bharati gave away the Sangh gameplan, to build pollution in Ganga into an emotive issue and then launch an agitation. This is the familiar Sangh plan, which was followed even on the issue of Babri Masjid. Uma Bharati is confident on building it into an emotive plank and encashing it at least in Uttar Pradesh during elections.
