Union Power Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia is mulling to tweak the Financial Restructuring Package process slightly to help Andhra Pradesh, along with a few other states like Jharkhand, Bihar and Karnataka. During the recent state power ministers meeting in the capital, Scindia said that he would soon approach the Union Cabinet for changes in the government debt recast plan for electricity distribution companies in these states.

A Model State Electricity Distribution Responsibility Bill is being circulated to the states, which needs to be enacted by the states. If he manages to go through the process, it will greatly benefit Andhra Pradesh.
