The second day of the two days Buddha Pournima Celebrations commenced after the Veda Chanting, by the Devotees from Thailand and Sri Lanka, at Prasanthi Nilayam. 

Prasanthi Nilayam : The second day of the two days Buddha Pournima Celebrations commenced after the Veda Chanting, by the Devotees from Thailand and Sri Lanka, at Prasanthi Nilayam.

The celebrations was participated by Devotees from 11 Nations – Viz., Malasiya, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, Lao PDR, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Hongkong, Taiwan and Japan.

Sri Amar Karki, Central Co-ordinator of Zone 43, welcomed the gathered audience at Kulwanth Hall and introduced the speaker of the day Sri Billy Fong, a Buddhist from Malasiya, who is also a Central Co-ordinator of Zone 41.

Sri Billy in his speech highlighted the three disciplines; one must have in order to practice the Value of Ahimsa, viz discipline on the Mind, the Tongue and the physical Body. He said that the physical body must not be used to harm anyone. The strength and capability of the body should be used to serve the society. The tongue should not indulge in falsehood and talking ill of others. The mind must be pure and be free from the negative qualities of anger, hatred and jealousy. He also said that the selfless service is the outward manifestation of compassion. When we have compassion in our heart, Ahimsa will be the bedrock in Society.

The SSE children and youth from Nepal then performed four colorful and beautiful dances – Tharu Dance, Maha Manjushree Dance, Shiva Dance and Dance of Nepal National song.

This was followed by the Bhajans by International team, Bhagawan’s Golden Voice singing Govinda Krishna Jai… aired into the Public Address System and the Mangala Arathi marked the end of the proceedings of the day at 1900 Hrs.
