Hotshots revel hour of glory

Hyderabad: The celebration after the historic triumph in the Indian Badminton League (IBL) done and over with, the Hyderabad Hotshots think tank is already looking ahead into the immediate future. Team mascot and Icon player, Saina Nehwal, radiated with joy while interacting with the media on Monday as part of an extended celebrations after touching base in the city.

Accompanied by the visibly delighted proud owner, Prasad V Potluri, CMD of PVP Group, and team coach, E Rajendra, and the glittering trophy on display, Saina said that the IBL experience would mark a momentous phase of her career. She reiterated that she wished to be part of the Hyderabad team ever since the time the League was conceptualised. While singling out K Srikanth for particular praise, she hoped to see a major Chinese presence in the next edition.

Meanwhile, Potluri said that the overwhelming response they received at every venue had floored him. He reassured complete support to the League while remaining hopeful that IBL would grow better and bigger. ‘I am sure that the huge response and the money would compel even players from China to also nurture hopes of making the grade. I am glad that PVP has not only been an integral part of the great springboard called Indian Badminton League but also entered the record books as its first winner.’
