Hyderabad: Tamil Nadu’s Sanjana Nagarajan defeated overnight leader Rimita Reddy of Telangana State to be in joint lead after the fourth round of the girl’s category in the 30th National U-7 chess championship in Pondicherry on Wednesday, according to information received here.

In joint lead are Sanjana’s state-mates Sai Neha and Sanjana Rangarajan and Maharashtra girl Khyati Jain. Anishka Pandey of Odisha and Kamalini Haradhana of Pondicherry are in second spot with 3.5 points while Sarvani Cheedella of Andhra Pradesh and Rimita are placed third with three points apiece.

In the boy’s category, Ilamparthy of Tamil Nadu is leading the table with four points. R Srihari also of Tamil Nadu is in second spot with 3.5 points while Sai Rishiraj and Adireddy Arjun are behind them with three points.
