Anantapur eves clinch hockey title

Anantapur: A brace by captain B Maheshwari helped host Anantapur win the 5th Andhra Pradesh sub-junior women inter-district hockey championship here on Saturday. Anantapur beat traditional rival Visakhapatnam 2-0.

Both the goals were scored by Maheshwari, who had scored hat-trick in the semifinal against Kadapa. Later, M Teppe Swamy, Chairman, Rural Development Trust gave away the prizes in the presence of Dr Vijaya Babu, Treasurer, Hockey Andhra Pradesh and members of the Organising Committee.
