Hyderabad: Former Rajya Sabha member V Hanumanth Rao on Saturday castigated the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for their defiance of the Supreme Court ruling on the recommendations of the three-member Lodha panel.

He told reporters that the BCCI has always been behaving in a manner that was unbecoming of a national body. The senior Congress leader said that Lodha recommendations once implemented could cleanse the sport. He regretted that the Board was trying everything to hang on to power.

Hitting out at BCCI for not questioning Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) officials with regard to the financial spending, Rao appreciated Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) for their transparency in functioning.
