The four-day 34th Japan Karate Association of India (JKAI) National Karate Championship ended at the Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli in a blaze of glory for Kaushiki Sen from West Bengal and Maharashtra boy Siddhant Suraprakash.  

Hyderabad: The four-day 34th Japan Karate Association of India (JKAI) National Karate Championship ended at the Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli in a blaze of glory for Kaushiki Sen from West Bengal and Maharashtra boy Siddhant Suraprakash.

They stood out from among hundreds of competitors drawn from 25 States with personal milestones in the Kata Individual and Kumite Individual categories for Under-8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 and 21+ age-groups. Displaying consistent form, the 2016 senior champion Kaushiki won three gold and one silver while Siddhant went a step higher with four gold and one silver.

Meanwhile, the event, hosted by JKAI Telangana State, was a massive success, according to its chief instructor Sensei Rapolu Sudershan. The toppers booked a berth for next year’s World Karate, which will be hosted by Japan. Sensei Dayanand Kumar, Anand Ratna, Kawawada Minoru and Sensei Nemoto Keisuke hailed the youngsters who exhibited natural technique execution skills.
