Ashwin holds sway on dramatic day

​Bangalore: It was all over in a mere 35.4 overs for Australia, thanks to inspired spells by Indians, particularly Ravichandran Ashwin, who added another feather to his cap.

Riding on Ashwin’s 25th five-wicket haul, Team India made a staggering comeback into the Border-Gavaskar series with a magnificent 75-run win at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on a dramatic Tuesday.

A record 16 wickets tumbled as Australia lost the script soon after skipper Steve Smith was dismissed.

Taking advantage of the marginal turn that he could get, Ashwin (6/41) ripped through the batting order to decimate the visitors who could only make 112 in the second innings.

The four-game series stands at one-all. The decisive third Test begins at Ranchi on March 16.
