Hyderabad: It was the perfect culmination for Ahmedabad-based Udayan Mane, who yet again demonstrated that he peaks as a championship nears its climatic stages.

That is precisely what he did on the final day of the excitingly fought Golconda Masters-2018 fold tournament that was supported by Telangana Tourism at the HGA course here on Sunday.

While winning his sixth professional trophy, he went home richer with Rs 4.50 lakh. The showing has helped him climb to third position in the 2018 PGTI Order of Merit.

The 27-year-old was a revelation while pipping fellow-contenders Delhi’s Shamim Khan (67), Chandigarh’s Abhijit Singh Chadha (67) and Sri Lankan N Thangaraja (68) in the playoff. Mukesh Kumar finished tied eighth.

Mane (67-66-69-68) went for the kill with birdies on the eighth, 10th and 11th. Chief Secretary of Telangana State, Shailendra Kumar Joshi, gave away the prizes.
