aidSrikakulam: Minister of State for IT and Communications Dr Killi Kruparani said that the 47 families who lost their homes in a fire mishap at Kusalampadu village of LNpet mandal will be aided adequately. She reached Kusalampadu on Wednesday and spoke to the victims. On this occasion, she said that they would be sanctioned IAY houses. When the villagers told her about the unfortunate incident in which cash and material worth nearly Rs 2 lakh meant for the marriage of the daughter of one Appanna was burnt in the fire, she said that some amount would be compensated from the CM's Relief Fund. She said that proposals for this would be sent through the District Collector. She distributed the nine essential goods and two quintals of rice purchased by Indian Red Cross under Amma Hastam scheme to the victims. Former ZPTC LNpeta Sivvala Tejeswar Rao, Balakrishna, Simhachalam, Srikakulam RDO G Ganesh Kumar, in-charge Tahsildar Gopal and mandal level officials participated.
Kruparani meets grief stricken parents
The Union minister met the parents of the four children who were drowned in the lake at Kummaripeta village of Gara mandal. Among the four, two were brothers of the same family, the villagers told the minister. Both the children of Kummari Appanna died trying to save each other while two others were also drowned, they said. When told about the plight of Appanna, the minister said that if the couple accepts, she would try to arrange medical aid for them to have children again. She said that she could arrange for free surgery for Appanna's wife to reproduce again. Also she said that steps were afoot to extend relief to the family from the CM's Relief Fund. DCMS chairman Gondu Krishnamurthy, Gara former MPP Gondu Raghuram, Mandal Congress president Munjeti Krishna, Revenue Divisional Officer G Ganeshkumar and MDO Swarupa Rani and others participated.
