Poonam Dhillon as Sharda Modi in ‘Ek Nayi Pehchaan’ on Sony TV: As Sharda Modi who has spent her life taking care of her family she does an outstanding job. As a mother to a daughter and two sons, Sharda Modi is understanding with all. Despite being married to a reputed industrialist who has even given his business her name, everyone puts her down since she is not able to read or write. While her elder son Karan who is close to her than to his father knows about her weakness, her savior comes in the form of her daughter-in-law Sakshi who gets her to learn English which is a task at her age. However, she has been shown handling herself quite well and is sure to emerge a winner.

Vaishali Thakker as Damini in ‘Uttaran’ on Colors: As Damini, she takes up a job of looking after a girl child Tapasya in a household to feed her own daughter Iccha of the same age. Without any difference in attitude she tries to give love and attention to both and is affectionately called as Ammu by both the girls. She ultimately does justice to her role as a maid and a mother both. Her efforts are rewarded by the family she is working for and despite all odds she manages to make her daughter’s life worthwhile as she gets married into a big family.

Divyanka Tripathi as Dr Ishita Bhalla in ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ on Star Plus: Playing a Tamilian girl who is unable to bear children, she finds solace in being good to all kids around. Her neighbour’s daughter Ruhi who has seen her parents divorced finds solace in her company and that leads to Ishita getting married to her typical Punjabi neighbour Raman Bhalla despite both of them not getting along with each other. The marriage is for convenience since Raman is fighting for his daughter’s custody with his ex wife and Ishita’s sacrifice is all due to her love for little Ruhi.

Supriya Shuka as Sarla Arora in ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ on Zee TV: As a single mother in an all women family she is the backbone of the household that she runs single handedly. Sarla Arora who runs a marriage hall is the typical loving mom to her two daughters but at the same time she is open minded and liberal when it comes to taking the right decisions for her daughters without a second thought to what the society will think or say! Her character comes across as a strong lady who is soft to the core when it comes to her family but is a hard nut to crack with the outside world. Not the typical crying mom; she is the one who will enjoy and party too when the time comes.

Shraddha Arya as Paakhi in ‘Tumhaari Paakhi’ on Life OK: She was the first wife to Anshuman who conveniently forgets their child marriage and gets married a second time and has a son too. Only when he wants to get married a third time he realises that he has to get his first marriage annulled and goes to Paakhi who accompanies him back to his home and enters his life. She becomes a stepmother to little Ayan who grows close to her due to her kind heartedness and they both share a warm mother-son relationship.
