Hyderabad: Telangana Education Minister G Jagadish said that the government would be ready to implement KG to PG free education in the State only from the next academic year.

Addressing the Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) at a get together at press club here on Saturday, the Minister said government would crack whip on the private schools that were charging exorbitant fee. He said in the united Andhra Pradesh everything got a beating, including education. The government would strive hard to provide world class education to all sections in the State, the Minister added.

Srinivas Reddy, ex-secretary, Indian Journalist Union, said that the government should speed up process of issuing health cards for the journalists. He said the applications which were given to government for health cards remained pending for last six months with the previous government. “The demand drafts would lapse in August if government doesn’t takes up the issue. Like government employee, journalists should also be given health cards,” he said.

Responding positively to the demands of the journalists, the Minister said government would look into the issues of the journalists, and soon a positive decision would be taken on the health cards and free education for the children of journalists.
