The banquet hall which was allegedly constructed by encroaching upon the Thammidi Kunta Lake has already been dismantled. The sudden demolition of the premises by the management raised many an eyebrow. But it is said that they had done so as the High Court had directed the GHMC to follow the rules in the process of demolishing illegal occupations and issue notices before resorting to demolitions. When contacted the GHMC officials told The Hans India that they were not aware of the voluntary demolition by the N Convention management. Chief City Planner (CCP) S Devender Reddy said GHMC was yet to receive the court order.

The land survey of the Thammidikunta Lake by the Revenue officials showed that the N Convention Centre had encroached upon 3.12 acres of the lake. The sprawling Convention centre measures upto 6.9 acres.

It may be recalled that Actor Nagarjuna and Nalla Preetham Reddy, who are partners in the venture, moved the High Court when the GHMC marked the Centre as illegal structure.

They argued that the GHMC did not issue them notices before taking up the survey. The High Court has directed the Telangana Government to issue legal notice before taking any action.
