The amount includes Rs.5 lakh provided by the State government and Rs.2 lakh by SCR.

The two leaders went to each victim’s house and handed over the cheques to the bereaved families in Islampur, Gundredipalli and Kishtapur villages. Speaking to members of the families, Harish Rao assured that the government would provide all possible assistance to them. He said the injured school children would be given treatment in super-speciality hospitals. The minister said lives of 20 school students could be saved because of the prompt response of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the involvement of all State ministers. He advised villagers to send their children to school only in RTC buses.

Harish Rao stated that the SCR officials had agreed to provide 16 gates at level-crossings in Telangana by the month-end. They also pledged to arrange gates at 106 level-crossings.
