Hyderabad: Down pouring of Heavy rains in Warangal district since last couple of days has become a matter of concern. The Morancha Lake in the district started overflowing in Station Ghanpur due to these heavy rains and blocked the access roads to as many as 10 villages. Due to this, the connections between any given two villages are cut.

It is worth recollecting that Warangal district was worst affected with the ill-timed and unanticipated rains early in the month of May, this year. The grain stocks at Warangal, Jangaon, Parakala market yards have been reduced to nothing in those rains.

The framers of Warangal district have been found in sniffle with this startling contingency. The victimized farmers then claimed that it was due to the lack of adequate blocking measures undertaken by the administration of the market yard; such a loss was incurred to them. At that time, the hailstorms have been a major cause of concern for the agrarian societies at all places in the entire Telangana. Nevertheless, this time it is the overflow of rainwater that has become a matter of concern. Also, the mango framers of Jangaon suffered a heavy loss due to the hailstorms in the district in the month of May. Approximately 15,000 bags of grain were spoiled at Jangaon market yard alone. In a similar way 5,000 bags of grain were drowned in water at Narsampet market yard. The estimated loss incurred was approximately Rs 200cr in Warangal district alone.

Going on with these statistics, and the recent heavy downpour of rains, it can be said that Warangal district has seen the worst time in the last three months.
