Hyderabad: Telangana JAC has decided to celebrate August 9 as the ‘Adivasi Diwas’ in protest against the Centre’s stand on the Polavaram project. Through protest it would highlight the aspects that would impact the lives of Adivasis’ in the seven mandals of Bhadrachalam division that have been transferred to AP.
The TJAC meeting, chaired by M Kodandaram, took strong objection to the unilateral decision taken by the AP State Council for Higher Education to announce the schedule for EAMCET counselling. The meeting said it amounts to undermining the State government’s authority.
They also found fault with the council for impleading in the court over the issue.
It demanded that Telangana State should have a separate High Court and RTC. Delay in the process was leading to unrest among the lawyers and the RTC employees, the meeting felt.
The members also passed resolution against the Kamalanathan Committee over its failure to take into consideration the views of the employees.
It held that the Committee should have incorporated the opinions of the employees of both States.
