At a meeting between the revenue and the Defence officials on Thursday, the latter said that the Army would itself arrange parking facilities, while other preparations have to be made by the State government.

However, the issue of ownership of 51 acres of vacant land in Makai Darwaza area around the fort where the government wanted to establish Parade Grounds remained unresolved.

The revenue officials asked the Army to produce the map showing the survey numbers 244, 245 and 246 inside at the Golconda, to prove their claim. Even though they argued that the land was transferred to army in 1950’s, they cited that the original map showing demarcation was with the Civil Court. According to the revenue officials, they would be doing a joint survey of the land after the Army produces the map. The officials would again meet on August 22.

Meanwhile, the Army continues to maintain tight vigil and is not been allowing anyone to enter the area. On Thursday it even prevented local people from burying a body in the nearby grave. The problem got resolved only after the local MLA Kausar Mohiuddin intervened.
