Hyderabad: Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday fulfilled the wish of an 11-year-old boy Konda Sarath, who recently underwent a critical heart surgery, by meeting him at Apollo hospital.

Sarath is currently recovering at Apollo Health City. The boy expressed his wish to meet the Chief Minister. Dr Prathap C Reddy, Chairman of the Apollo Hospitals Group, Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr Girish Warrier and Dr Pushpa Devi of 'Make a Wish Foundation' were present on the occasion.

Sarath, resident of Narmeta mandal in Jangam Tehsil, told KCR during the meeting that he wanted to become a doctor. KCR promised to finance his education and also promised to make a fixed deposit of Rs 5 lakh in the boy’s name.

Hospital authorities said Sarath would lead a normal life now as the surgery was a success. Sarath was born with a single ventricle instead of two and had defects in the heart valves and major blood vessels, doctors said. The boy was admitted in hospital with severe heart problem.
