Hyderabad: A case has been registered against Former Minister Danam Nagender in Banjara Hills police station on allegations of intimidation and threatening with dire consequences against land owners over construction of a building.

According to police, when K Hymavathi, daughter of Kondapalli Sitaramayya ,the founder of People's War Group, and her son-in-law A Jayender Reddy had started construction of a building to set up a IT unit in Road No 7 Banjara Hills, Danam and his associates allegedly threatened them. Jayender Reddy said he had come to Hyderabad from US on the invitation of Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Minister for IT K T Ramarao and wanted to start an IT unit for which the building was being constructed. But the followers of Danam Nagender were obstructing him and had beaten up some of his people and even threatened him of dire consequences. He said Danam also asked him to come over to his place and settle the matter. Reddy said he has nothing to settle since they own the land since 1983.

He also added Danam’s contention was that the land belongs to one Hema Chowdary. The police registered cases under sections 447, 427, 506 and 507 of IPC over his involvement in 869 yards of land under survey number 129/55. Cases were also booked against his supporters including Mahesh Yadav, Corporator of Somajiguda.
