Telangana Chief Secretary holds meeting with officials

Hyderabad: With little over eight months left for Godavari Pushkaraalu, the Telangana government has decided to hold meetings with district collectors and other officials every fortnight. One of the three pilgrim centres - Basara, Dharmapuri and Bhadrachalam – will be spruced up with all facilities during this period.

Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma held a meeting with senior officials of Endowments, R & B, RTC, Railways, Fire Services, Irrigation, Culture and Tourism in this connection on Wednesday. He directed them to submit department-wise proposals in ten days on likely expenditure to be incurred during Pushkaraalu.

Further, the meeting decided to build eight ghats for convenience of pilgrims to take bath in the sacred river. The Chief Secretary asked RTC and Railway authorities to make necessary transportation arrangements since thousands of people would be visiting these ghats.

It may be mentioned here that Godavari Pushkaraalu are scheduled to begin on July 12.
