Telangana likely to have a stormy Budget Session, The Congress is also planning to issue a whip and press for voting when the Budget would be put to vote.

Opposition parties to work in close coordination; to move no-confidence motion

Hyderabad: The first Budget Session of the Telangana Assembly which is slated to begin here on November 5 appears to be a stormy one as the Opposition parties including Congress, the TDP and the Left parties have decided to work in close coordination and take on the government on issues like farmers’ suicides and power shortage in the State. The Congress is contemplating to move a no-confidence motion during the session.
Security personnel have already taken position around the Assembly
According to former Deputy Speaker and senior Congress leader Bhatti Vikramarka, the State government has not been behaving in a responsible manner. “It appears the people who are heading the government are highly egoistic. Lack of vision and early measures to tide over the problem of power shortage had resulted in problems for the farmers. The confusion it had created with regard to fee reimbursement has jeopardised the future of the students. Unemployed youth are getting more and more worried as no steps have been taken to create employment,” he said. The government had even failed to release funds under SC-ST sub plan, he added.

The Congress is also planning to issue a whip and press for voting when the Budget would be put to vote.

TDP leader E Dayakar Rao told The Hans India that the TDP would expose how the TRS government had failed on all fronts and that it would support the no-confidence motion if Congress moved it. He said while large number of farmers committed suicide since June, the government had put the official figure at just 90. The Left parties too expressed their willingness for floor coordination as farmers in the State were committing suicides due to delay in implementation of loan waiver scheme and non availability of power for agriculture.

The Congress said before bifurcation the TDP had moved a no-confidence motion against the then Congress government with just 24 members and managed to convert it into a political debate. The Congress wanted to do the same now, it said.
