Hyderabad: The 64-day strike by the junior doctors in Telangana State has been called off following the directive from the High Court. The junior doctors on Saturday reported for duties. But, the junior doctors in Andhra Pradesh are still continuing with the strike.

Talking to the media, the Telangana Junior Doctors’ Association leaders said they called off the strike out of respect to the law of the land. It may be mentioned here that the junior doctors went on strike against GO No. 107, which makes it mandatory for students to work in rural areas to complete their course. They said their problems are going unnoticed.

They also said it will be tough to work in rural areas without required medicines and equipment. The strike had severely impacted the healthcare delivery services in the 10 districts of the State.
