Professionals of print and electronic media and photo journalists of yesteryears were felicitated on Saturday by Round Table India and its affiliate Lady Circle India and Area 9, in association with Press Club of Hyderabad.
Hyderabad: Professionals of print and electronic media and photo journalists of yesteryears were felicitated on Saturday by Round Table India and its affiliate Lady Circle India and Area 9, in association with Press Club of Hyderabad.
The Round Table India claims to be involved in community service projects mainly in creating educational infrastructure for the downtrodden sections of society. The organisation had constructed 250 schools, 4,900 class rooms and helped in the education 54,000 children across the country so far, the organizers said.
Veteran print journalists including Dasu Kesav Rao, S Nagesh Kumar, M Malleshwar Rao, Gudipudi Srihari, (all from The Hindu), MP Ravindra Nath, Narayana Pillai (Deccan Chronicle), GS Varadachari (veteran journalist and professor of journalism), K Lakshman Rao, Nandiraju Radhakrishna and Vinay Kumar (former editor, Prajashakti) were felicitated with a garland, Anga Vastram and a plaque.
Working journalists in the print media including D Veerabhadra Rao (The Hindu), Dileep Reddy (Executive Editor, Sakshi), Manjari Kadiyala (Sakshi), Majith (Editor, Eitamad, the new Urdu daily published from Hyderabad), Ratna Chotrani (Siyasat), Fazil Hussain Pervez and Rajm Ali Khan (worked in various Urdu dailies) were felicitated with a garland, Anga Vastram and a plaque.
Electronic media journalists including Uma Sudhir (NDTV), Pasham Yadagiri (Editor, TNN), Swapna (formerly with Tv9, RJ with Salam Telangana FM, singer and anchor), Kambhalapalli Krishna (Executive Editor, Tv8) and KA Qayyum (T News, Urdu edition) were felicitated. Photo journalists who had made their mark over the years were also felicitated. They include H Satish, and PVG Shiva Kumar (both from The Hindu) and B K Ramesh (Deccan Chronicle).
Cartoonists Sheik Subhani and Shankar (Sakshi) were felicitated with a garland, Anga Vastram and a plaque.
