Govt sanctions Rs.261 cr for roads and bridges in Sirpur

Koneru KonappaSirpur (Adilabad): Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa disclosed that the State government sanctioned Rs 261 crore for development of roads and construction of new roads and bridges in Sirpur Assembly constituency. A G.O. was released to this effect.

Speaking to the media persons here on Tuesday, Konappa said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has fulfilled the long pending desire of people of the constituency by sanctioning funds for construction of a bridge between Gudem and Ahiri on River Pranahita. The government sanctioned Rs 90 crore for construction of the bridge. Once the construction is completed, it would provide a shorter route from Hyderabad to Raipur in Chhattisgarh. The distance on the route would get reduced by 100 km when compared to the current route. Stating that the bridge would connect the States of Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, the MLA said that it would help in development of the constituency.

He said that the Chief Minister also sanctioned Rs 7.4 crore for construction of some other new bridges. Rs 4.9 crore has been allocated for construction of two bridges on Kagaznagar-Easgaon route. The MLA said Rs 2.5 crore has been allocated for construction of a bridge in the place of an existing causeway located on the route of Dabba and Koutala.

The State government sanctioned Rs 128 crore for widening of R and B roads in five mandals of Sirpur constituency.


For development of the road between Kagaznagar and Sarasala a sum of Rs 18 crore has been sanctioned, for widening of road between Koutala and Sirpur Rs 25 crore, for widening of road between Kagaznagar and Babasagar via Kadamba Rs 25 crore, and the government sanctioned Rs 36 crore for widening of road between Kagaznagar and Dahegaon.

The government also sanctioned Rs 16 crore for conversion of Panchayat Roads in different villages in the constituency into BT roads. The works will be taken up between Koutala and Tumdiheti, Koutala and Salugupalli, Penchikalpet and Salugupalli, Dinda and Chittam and Konchavelli and Gerre.

Konappa said the government sanctioned Rs 20 crore for construction of new roads for a total distance of 51 km in the constituency.

Meanwhile, the TRS workers burst crackers and took part in celebrations as the Chief Minister has released funds for execution of developmental works in the constituency.
