Karimnagar: District Revenue Officer (DRO) T Veerabrahmaiah said that linemen and line inspectors of TSGENCO should stay in the villages and resolve power issues related to farmers.

The DRO participated in ‘Dial Your Collector’ programme at a conference hall at the Collectorate here on Monday. On the occasion, P Laxma Reddy belonging to Pegadapalli village of Kalva Srirampur mandal has informed Veerabrahmaiah that the TSGENCO employees were not residing in the villages they were posted. As a result, farmers were succumbing to injuries while attempting to resolve power-related issues on their own in the absence of linemen and line inspectors. The DRO gave assurance to Laxma Reddy that he would instruct SE to give orders to linemen and line inspectors to reside in the villages.

M Narasaiah from Metpalli has brought to the notice of DRO that 1000 square yards which was earmarked for Municipal Park ten years ago is under encroachment. He informed him that appropriate measures would be taken to protect land fromencroachers. Narasimha Swamy, a resident of Hanuman Nagar of Karimnagar city has told Veerabrahmaiah that drinking water was leaking from a broken pipe in his colony.

The DRO said instructions would be given for taking up pipe repair works immediately. The CPO Subba Rao, DM&HO Dr Aleem, RDO Chandrasekhar and other officials were present.
