The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has entered into an agreement with certain banks for the remittance of property tax, advertisement tax, trade licence, building permission, etc.

The GHMC would be saving Rs 50 lakh per annum with the present tie up with banks.

According to a press release, the civic body would not be paying any charges for the services by the banks.

The banks that would be providing the services include State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) (200 branches), Andhra Bank (200 branches), ICICI (75 branches), Indian Bank (45 branches), Indus Ind bank (15 branches), Yes Bank (11 branches) and Kotak Mahindra (10 branches).

The banks would provide special counters for the remittance of tax and there would be no cap on the amount of remittance.
