Hyderabad: Sticking to its promise made during the elections, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government on Tuesday finalised guidelines for regularisation of houses constructed by BPL families in government lands in Hyderabad and other parts of the State. Under the regularisation scheme, title deeds will be given in the name of women of all beneficiary families.
The guidelines for regularisation of the houses have been approved in a meeting held by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao with the officials at Secretariat. As per the guidelines, houses constructed in 125 yards in government lands would be regularised based on income limits.
The BPL families holding white cards in villages and people whose annual income is below Rs 2 lakh are eligible for the regularisation of their houses free of cost. The houses constructed in an area of 250 yards will regularised by collecting 50 per cent of the existing registration fee from the occupants and 75 per cent of fee from the owners who constructed houses in 500 yards. The occupants who constructed houses in more than 500 yards (including commercial establishment, educational institutions and hospitals) should pay 100 per cent registration free for regularisation of their properties.
The scheme will be applicable for those who occupied pieces of lands and constructed houses before June 2, 2014. It is mandatory that every occupant should show residential proof along with ration card or Aadhaar or voter ID card during the submission of their applications.
Instructing the officials to complete the whole process in 90 days under the supervision of joint collectors (JCs) and RDOs, the Chief Minister asked them to take all vacant government lands into their possession and sell them through open auction. Chandrashekar Rao was informed that many government lands were under the threat of encroachment in all districts.
Rao also directed the officials of the GHMC to submit a report on the encroachment of nalas (water drains) in Greater Hyderabad and suggest measures for the maintenance of water bodies. State Deputy Chief minister and Revenue Minister Md Mahmood Ali, Chief Secretary Rajeev Sarma, CCLA Special Commissioner GD Aruna and others were also present.
