Hyderabad: Assembly Rules committee which met under the chairmanship of Speaker Madhusudhana Chary here on Tuesday said that henceforth the budget session of Telangana Assembly would commence in March first week every year. Also, everyday proceedings would commence at 9.30 am when the House would be in session.

Telangana Assembly proceedings used to begin at 10 am after formation of the new State. However, starting time has been advanced by 30 minutes owing to demands from opposition parties. Rules committee although tried to meet on two occasions earlier could not make it due to various factors.

However, the panel comprising members from all parties took few key decisions on Tuesday. Budget session, which used to start in last week of February in undivided State, will kick-off in first week of March from this year onwards. The debate on thanksgiving motion to Governor's address has been reduced to four days from the previous six.

Further, the meeting decided to reduce number of Assembly committees to 12 from the previous 16. Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Dr K Laxman (BJP), Indrakaran Reddy and Rekha Naik from TRS, Vivekananda Goud (TDP), Sunnam Rajaiah (CPI-M) took part. Congress and MIM members were conspicuous by their absence. On the other hand, Ministers Harish Rao, K Taraka Ramarao and Jagdeeshwar Reddy, who are out of the State, could not attend the meeting.
