Warangal: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday promised that the State Government would provide free housing to all the poor persons in the State. Addressing a public meeting at Gareeb Nagar in Gisukonda mandal of Parkal Assembly segment in Warangal district, KCR said that the government was committed to providing pension, ration cards and free housing to all the poor persons. During his third day of Warangal visit, KCR interacted with the residents of Gareeb Nagar.

He assured that the government would provide them all assistance and soon their area would be known as ‘Ameer Nagar.’ He also assured that the encroachments in the area would be regularised as per the rules. He advised the residents to provide all the details to the officials who would be visiting them soon. He instructed the officials to resolve all the problems being faced by the people.

He promised them that the proposed houses would have double bedroom and all basic facilities like tap connection and individual toilets. It would be the responsibility of local MLAs to ensure that the proposed project was implemented fast. If they fail to ensure that the project was executed, they will lose their posts, he said.

Rao expressed serious concern over the poor state of affairs in the slums. Parkal Assembly segment is represented by MLA Ch Dharma Reddy who joined the TRS recently from TDP, and SR Nagar slum falls under Wardhannapet Assembly represented by TRS MLA A Ramesh.

The Chief Minister said, “I told the officials to survey and prepare the pattas which I will distribute them to you in the next two days. Stay put in your houses and cooperate with the visiting officials” he told the public. He said all the slums in and around Warangal district headquarters would be developed into modern colonies. He said he would visit the area in next four months to launch the works for construction of the houses.
