At a review meeting held in this connection at Secretariat on Monday, KCR directed authorities to also prepare plans for constructing new residential quarters for Chief Secretary and Principal secretaries. The Chief Minister desired district collectorates to function from a single place housing all departments. He proposed construction of a 10-storey building in an area of 15 acre to house district collectorate.
Designs should be built to accommodate official residences of district collector and joint collector in the same building, he added. He further asked authorities to prepare proposals for building MLAs office in each Assembly constituency.KCR is set to embark on a visit to Gulf countries next week. According to official sources, he will be touring UAE, Qatar and Yemen from January 18 to 22. This visit is purely to attract foreign investments to the new State. It may be recalled that this is KCR's second official foreign tour. He earlier visited Singapore and Malaysia countries in August.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister appointed a four-member committee headed by senior IAS officer Pradeep Chandra and comprising Shivashankar, MG Gopal and Ranjeev Acharya as other members on the panel regarding Pay Revision Commission (PRC) for employees. This committee would hold discussions with employee unions on the extent of fitment and submit a report to CM in the next few days.
