Participating as the chief guest at a condolence meeting on the occasion of 21st day ceremony of Venkataswamy organised at Ravindra Bharathi on Wednesday, the Chief Minister recalled the services rendered by the veteran Congress leader who succeeded in his efforts to get pension scheme for workers. The government would honour ‘Kaka’ by constructing a building in his name, he said, adding that his life was a message for Telangana.

Being a hard worker, Kaka made persistent efforts for the cause of workers and deprived classes and Telangana government would give them due recognition. Honouring such great personalities indeed was honouring Telangana State, he said. The Chief Minister announced that the government would conduct birth and death anniversaries of Kaka every year. Chandrashekar Rao exhorted the young leaders to emulate Kaka, who did his best for the uplift of the oppressed and working class at national level.

Venkataswamy’s sons, including MP Vivek and Vinod were present in the meeting attended by leaders from Congress, BJP, CPI and others, including Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, G Kishan Reddy, Jaipal Reddy, Jana Reddy, Utham Kumar Reddy, Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, K Narayana, TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram and others. Speaking on the occasion, Jaipal Reddy said Venkataswamy grew as a Parliament Member from grass root level. Jaipal also said common man’s life was his school and he always stood by the side of working class.
