Vemulawada (Karimnagar): The Circle Inspector of Police and rural police on Sunday undertook intensive search operations for Maoists in Nookalamarri of Vemulawada mandal here.
The villagers reminiscenced the old days as Janashakthi Naxals earlier selected the Nookalamarri village for all their operations. There was also fire exchange long ago between the police and Naxals in the village. Following reports, police entered the village to foil the plans of naxals and started house-to-house search operations.
The CI sought the villagers to alert the police if they had noticed any new or suspected persons moving in the village. He also asked the villagers to obtain full details of the persons while giving houses on rent. During the search operations, the police noticed manufacture of illicit-liquor and destroyed 400 litres of illicit-liquor and warned the manufacturers to stop the illegal distilling activity.
