Hyderabad: Telangana Housing and Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy has sought funds from the Central Government for the conduct of Godavari Pushkarulu.

Indrakaran Reddy called on Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya here on Thursday and discussed various issues concerning the Telangana State.

Khairtabad MLA Chintala Ramchandra Reddy was also present on the occasion.

Both the ministers discussed the issue of Godavari Pushkaralu to begin shortly in Telangana and the arrangements being made by the State Government.

Indrakaran Reddy sought the cooperation of the Union Minister to pursue with the Union Government for allocation of more funds in developing the ghats and arrangements for the pilgrims during the Pushkaralu from Basar to Dharmapuri and Bhadrachalam. Dattatreya said that he would strive to secure all the necessary help from the Union Government in this regard.

They also discussed the housing projects status in the state of Telangana particularly Indira Awas Yojana scheme in rural areas and Rajiv Gruha Kalpa scheme in the urban areas.

Dattatreya said that he would extend full cooperation for the initiation of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in his endeavour to make Hyderabad a slum free city.

Indrakaran Reddy informed that he would be visiting New Delhi very shortly and sought Dattatreya's cooperation for assistance in meeting with Union Rural Development Minister Virendra Singh and Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and also in allocation of more funds for housing and urban infrastructure development.

Dattatreya assured all necessary help in this regard.

Indrakaran Reddy sought special allocation from the Union Labour Ministry for the welfare of beedi workers in the districts of Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Warangal and Medak districts and also setting up of Super Specialty ESI Hospital at Nirmal. Dattatreya said he would depute Labour Welfare Commissioner to take up all necessary initiatives in this regard and also to initiate setting up of more ESI 50 to 100 bedded hospitals in the districts of Telangana.
