Collector asks them to discharge duties in a transparent manner

Nizamabad: District Collector D Ronald Ross said that people will have respect for officials of the Revenue Department if they discharge their duties in a transparent manner and maintain land records properly.

Inaugurating a three-day refresher training programme for divisional and village-level officials of the Revenue Department at the Revenue Bhavan here on Thursday, the District Collector said that the Revenue Department is crucial for any government. “Government has to depend on village-level revenue officials for implementation of various welfare schemes,” he added. He pointed out that the performance of district administration would depend on hard work of revenue officials in villages.

Earlier, people in villages used to respect revenue officials for their role in the village development, he said. The Collector expressed displeasure stating that the present day revenue officials were unable to tell government land details in villages. He gave a call to the officials to make use of the training programme and discharge their duties with renewed enthusiasm in villages.

Joint Collector A Ravinder Reddy said that the Revenue system was the oldest in the country. He informed revenue officials that people are having high expectations on officials in the new government. He asked the officials to live up to the expectations of the people by working as per their needs. DRO Manohar, DWMA Project Director K Venkateswarlu, RDO P Yadi Reddy, VROs and revenue staff attended the refresher programme.
