Rs 8,000 crore worth investments are expected by Telangana from more than 20 investors under its new industrial policy.

A new industrial policy, Telangana Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-iPASS) was announced in November promising zero graft, proposes six industrial corridors and time-bound clearance of proposals among other initiatives.

Jupally Krishna Rao, the Telangana Industries Minister said that more such applications are in the pipeline on the sidelines of Aero India 2015. All mega projects (over Rs 200 crore) under the new policy will be getting a clearance within 15 days.

Rao added that Hyderabad is a preferred destination for investors in defence and aerospace sectors and also enjoys locational advantage with most of the districts being 100 to 120 km away from the city. Telangana, moreover, has 2.5 lakh acres of government land available for industrial purposes, unlike other states said Rao.
