Beedi workers stage dharna for monthly pension

Adilabad: Beedi workers under the banner of Telangana Progressive Beedi Workers’ Union staged a dharna in front of the office of Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) in Nirmal town on Wednesday. Addressing the beedi workers, the union leaders said that K Chandrashekar Rao as TRS president had promised to provide monthly pension of Rs 1000 to beedi workers once the party was voted to power in the State.But the TRS government had failed to implement the poll promise of sanctioning monthly pension to beedi workers till date, he added. They warned the TRS government that they would launch state-wide agitation if the government failed to fulfil its election promise.
