Hyderabad: The death toll in the IDL blast incident that occurred at Kukatpally on Monday has increased to three as one more injured person succumbs to burns on Wednesday.
According to police, the deceased Madhusudhan Reddy, 61, a native of Jangaon, Warangal was among 13 people who were injured in the high-intensity explosion that took place in the explosives divisions of the unit in D-1 sector. While two workers, P Amar, 22, of Hanamkonda and Shravan, 23, of Neredmet, were killed on the spot, 11 others of the company who sustained burn injuries were shifted to Apollo Hospitals in Jubilee Hills and Kanchanbagh, respectively.
Madhusudhan sustained more than 85 per cent burn injuries. Doctors performed a surgery on him for inhalation injury which increased fluid resuscitation requirements. He succumbed to injuries at the Apollo Hospital, DRDO, Kanchanbagh on Wednesday. Police earlier registered a case under Sections 304A, 337 and 338 of IPC against the management of the company.
