TDP members submit memorandum to Governor over suspension the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) complained about suspension of its legislators from the state assembly for the entire budget session to the state governor in Telangana.

On Friday, the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) complained about suspension of its legislators from the state assembly for the entire budget session to the state governor in Telangana. Seeking his intervention in the matter, TDP legislators met Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and submitted a memorandum at Raj Bhavan.

Alleging that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government acted in undemocratic manner by suspending them for the entire session, the leaders urged the governor to take action against the government.

Led by TDP floor leader E. Dayakar Rao, the delegation also said that the speaker was following the directions of the government and was not discharging his duties in unbiased manner. Also, they sought immediate disqualification three party legislators including T. Srinivas Yadav, who is now a cabinet minister for defecting to the TRS.

Eleven TDP members were suspended from the assembly amid ruckus on Monday.

While the government was insisting that the TDP leaders tender an apology for showing disrespect to the national anthem during the governor's address on March 7, they were staging protest demanding representation for the Scheduled Castes and women in the cabinet.
