Karimnagar: Finance Minister Eatala Rajender said that restoring of the lakes by removing silt from them will help in turning the fields into green.Rajender launched the works under the Mission Kakatiya project at Ooru Cheruvu in Mogilpalem village of Thimmapur mandal in Karimnagar district on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the previous governments neglected the lakes in Telangana by not removing the silt from them. To restore all the lakes in Telangana, the TRS government started the prestigious project Mission Kakatiya.

“By using the silt removed from the lakes in their fields, the farmers can turn their lands into fertile lands without using any fertilisers and they can get maximum yield for their crops. We are going to complete the restoration of all the lakes in Telangana during the next three years,” the Minister said.

He also said, “After one year we are determined to give power to the farmers during night also. We promised to give Rs 1000 pension after forming of Telangana State to widows and fulfilled it. For students we are supplying fine rice.”ZPTCs, MPPs, sarpanches and Anganwadi workers felicitated the Minister as the State government provided hike in their salaries.
