‘SHE’ teams deployed for women security in Telangana districts The novel concept of ‘SHE’ teams that was initiated in Hyderabad and Cyberabad in October 2014 is now set to be expanded in all major cities and towns from April to check crimes against women.
The novel concept of ‘SHE’ teams that was initiated in Hyderabad and Cyberabad in October 2014 is now set to be expanded in all major cities and towns from April to check crimes against women. On Monday, the Telangana government said in the Legislative Assembly that the concept proved to be successful in providing safety and security for women.
Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said that over 100 SHE teams were formed for Hyderabad and 60 teams for Cyberabad; each team consists of one sub-inspector, one ASI or a head constable, two constables, a women constable and one of them with a discreet camera, all in civil dress.
Mr. Reddy said that the teams will be beginning the operations from April 1 this year in all major cities and towns covering all the districts.
